HEAD HONCHO SPEAKS: FALL 2022

Hello Everyone,

Summer is coming to a close so that means back to school is right around the corner.  We sell a lot of bikes this time of year.  We have plenty in stock ready to go!  

We know committing to being a bike commuter can mean extra time for your commute. We have a great answer…. E-bikes and they are so much fun.  BONUS! You can show up to class or work without also being sweaty!  Other benefits of commuting include not having to find parking and then still possibly having to walk a long way. With a bike you get to ride right up to where you need to be. You can also use many of our E-bikes for grocery shopping and running your regular errands.

With rising inflation from gas to groceries would it not be nice to save a little and cut out that weekly car gas bill? Or better yet go to a one car or no car family! The bicycle in the past 3 years has quickly shown its worth as a way to get out and be safe and healthy, or as an inexpensive solution to get from A-B. We love organizations like People for Bikes. The work they do to show how bicycles can create change is imperative to progress for Safer Streets.  “Half (48%) of all car trips in the U.S. are less than 3 miles – that’s a 15 minute bike ride at an average pace.

Cycling and commuting has become a new lifestyle for many people now.   We see this as a chance to help with climate change by reducing the amount of cars on the road. We are committed to this change here at The Hub. Most of us travel to the shop either by bike, E-bike, walking, or electric vehicle. Our beautiful town of Athens is small enough to easily get around without a car. I can get to work in the same amount of time on my bicycle as I can in my electric car most days. I breeze right by all the stopped cars on College Station on my way into work in the morning on days I ride my bike.

So come on down to the shop and take a test ride on an E-bike. It is FREE and so much fun we guarantee that you will come back with a smile on your face!  Want to take an E-bike on a longer ride?   You can also rent one from us and enjoy Athens by bike.
